Good weather app

Weather reporting not consistent.. especially on weekends. I don’t want a video from 13 hours ago. I don’t mind 4 or 5 hours ago. Way too many video advertisements! Very frustrating.

Best radar feed for the weather geek I am ! And I have tried them all. Alert function is zip specific so I don’t get alerts from a distant local.

I used to rely heavily upon this app for my daily Weather checks as well as severe weather updates. Over the last month or so I noticed that it rarely functions properly. We recently had some severe weather come through my area and the app provided little to no information. The radar showed absolutely nothing and was not functioning. Not sure what changes were made recently, but I’m definitely uninstalling and choosing something more reliable.

Great app

Born and raised in the Charlotte metro area. WSOC-TV Weather is the FIRST to have a local Doppler radar. National Weather Service has Charlotte in a radar black hole because of the lay of the land from the foothills through the Piedmont. WSOC-TV has been my GO TO weather and news source since the late 1970’s. I trust them that much. I survived Hurricane Hugo thanks to them even though they lost their television transmission tower

The forecast shown on app doesn’t even come close to match their live, and video recorded forecast.

I am deleting this app today! This app keeps interrupting my phone calls over and over and you cannot hear the other person speaking! It could be your father’s last dying breath and words, and it will interrupt what they are saying and you can never get that back again! I am over this!

WSOC-TV is my go to for news and weather. Been a fan of John Ahrens for years.

Never gets the weather right with all this technology……it was better in the 80s and 90s …..deleting app due to fake news

So many times when it is raining in Rock Hill City on our road it doesn’t. Like the storm yesterday, my daughter lives in town just a couple of blocks from the fountain, poured down at her house didn’t rain at all here. So funny we say it don’t rain on Dunlap Roddey Rd. It like stopes at the end of our road , maybe a few yards will get some but not many. This happens a lot. But got some last night. LOL

WSOC-TV weather app is the best local app I have found. Very user friendly. Other channels’ apps have too many ads. A weather alert sounds and some of them take me to an add. Not so with WSOC-TV. It is easy to use radar to show what you want to see. I recommend it.

No matter where I go I can always get the latest and greatest local weather report and especially the local radar plus warnings well in advance of all types of hazardous weather storms…. AND THEIR ACCURATE!! Best weather app of all of them and I’ve tried many, this one is a keeper…and a user for your weather forecast!!David

Would be great to be able to see the weather hourly and to click on that day and see outlays for each day

Enjoyed the app until they started making you watch an ad before the video. Get a notification of “Breaking News”, tap on it to see the “Breaking News” and have to endure a 30 second video ad before seeing the “Breaking News”. By the time the ad finish’s, the news conference or video about the situation is concluding or you have missed major portion of the information.

Their weather app is the best that I have ever used, it alerts me well ahead of what is on it’s way. I would recommend this app to anyone it gets a Thumbs up from me.

I am 51 years old and I have been watching channel 9 news and weather since I was a young boy having to change the channels on grandma and grandpa’s TV by hand, turned the knob😂 I drive a truck and haul logs all day long so I am outdoors all day and I’ll follow yawls forecast and radar all day long! Keep up the great work I will try to get some videos or photos when I’m out in the weather! God bless all!

Since the station no longer accepts email, we’ll use the app. Neither the iPhone app nor the part time chief meteorologist provide Dew point, but every other station in the area does. I will not watch someone who can’t enunciate, slurs and emotes over weather and is usually wrong. I will also not watch anyone who drools over whiz-bang radar at the expense of ignoring the balance of the viewing area. As for the app, put the dew point in the iPhone app and you have 5 stars. You have radar options. In the meantime, I’ll watch Keith and Ashley, or another station when they’re not on.

I really enjoy WSOC-TV News and Weather. I feel the news coverage is honest and non-sensationalized. I don't care for the "first seen" on WSOC-TV. I am more concerned the facts are correct, not being the first to broadcast an event. I like all the members of the news team: anchors, weather, sports, community assistants, reporters in various locations, etc. As a journalism minor in college, I have been appalled by the poor job being done on various stations. You should be proud of your station!

I work outside on a daily basis and the channel 9 weather app is very helpful in preparing me for the day and alerts throughout the day!

To much air time on weather!!! It is the same thing on all the broadcast .Most of the time it’s wrong.

Today was not at all what you forecasted so I would give 0 stars but it made me give you one!

Not sure what happened but for about a month now when looking at Daily high/low it is not accurate. Have to open up Hourly to get an accurate high & low for the day. Example today its showing High of 70 & highest temp it gets all day today is 56. Please fix it. Thx

Format it great, but your future radar cast is best!

I’m not sure what happened but the app hardly ever works right anymore. The temperature nearly always says it’s 77 degrees, morning, noon and evening, every day of the week. Also, the radar no longer works. I’ve tried uninstalling and installing it again but it didn’t help. I’m going to permanently uninstall it and find something else.

White on blue letters are awful

Used 5 gigs of data in 10 days and has cost me $60 in overage charges so far.

You had a good working radar. The new one is seriously inadequate. Please go back to your previous radar. Radar is important to me.

..... and now unless you buy into the iphone new device every six month madness, this app no longer supports most previous IOS

Previous versions of the app had the ability to view video of the most recent weather forecast. This was useful to those of us who were interested in weather. The WSOC-TV meteorologists do a great job. What knucklehead thought that the streaming video of anything but weather would be meaningful in this app? Whoever that was kick them in the shins or give them a dope slap.

The app was great before the update. It is no longer user friendly and difficult to navigate.

Since the new update it says I need to connect to WiFi when I open the app or error failed. I have to reboot my phone to get it to work. Not very useful

The update ruined the app. It crashes constantly. Missing features the other app had. Deleting it and getting another local app. Very disappointing..

The old version of this app was my go-to weather app of choice. Too many lousy changes on the new one, I won’t use it anymore. Have switched to a competing app. Will be deleting on 5/1 after old version stops working. Why not keep a version that runs on iOS 9?

It was great before, simple to use. To much going on now.

The new updated app is not very responsive and constantly freezes up. Needs more work.

Terrible revamp. Always a network error so I can’t view current forecast. It was much easier when you could just click the day and the hourly forecast popped out to the side. The older version was much more user friendly. And where’s the videos???
